SMITHCO

PROPELLERS

Smithco's 760 mm to 1000 mm (30" to 39 3/8"), 8 blade propellers are used extensively in forklift loaded lumber kilns drying hardwoods and softwoods. The efficient airfoil blades are most effective up to 1 1/2" (38 mm) w.g. of static pressure as measured across the kiln's fan wall, and the maximum recommended fan speed is 1750 RPM. They are made of stress relieved, heat-treated, high grade permanent mold cast aluminum alloy for trouble free service in rugged kiln environments to 350°F (175°C). These propellers have adjustable pitch blades and tested reversibility with full flow in both directions. All Smithco propellers have, keyed taper lock bushings and stainless steel hardware, and the blade pitch is easily set using the Smithco SMI-10-8 DG Degree Gauge as shown below.

Smithco's 42" and 48", 4 blade propellers are used extensively in forklift loaded lumber kilns drying hardwoods and softwoods. The wide airfoil blades are most effective up to 3/4" (19 mm) w.g. of static pressure as measured across the kiln's fan wall, and the maximum recommended fan speed is 1450 RPM. They are made of stress relieved, heat-treated, high grade permanent mold cast aluminum alloy for trouble free service in rugged kiln environments to 350°F (175°C). These propellers have adjustable pitch blades and tested reversibility with full flow in both directions. All Smithco propellers have, keyed taper lock bushings and stainless steel hardware, and the blade pitch is easily set using the Smithco SMI-DG-H Degree Gauge.

Smithco's 54" to 72", 4 and 6 blade propellers are used extensively in track loaded lumber kilns drying softwoods. The efficient airfoil blades are most effective up to 1 1/2" (38 mm) w.g. of static pressure as measured across the kiln's fan wall, and the maximum recommended fan speed is 925 RPM.

Smithco's 60" to 76" 8 blade propellers are used extensively in track loaded lumber kilns drying softwoods. This propeller is designed for improved performance from 1 1/8" (30 mm) w.g. to above 2" (50 mm) of static pressure as measured across the kiln's fan wall, and the maximum recommended fan speed is 925 RPM.

Smithco's 2000mm to 84", 12 blade propellers are used primarily in track loaded lumber kilns drying softwoods. This propeller is designed for improved performance from 2" (50 mm) w.g. to above 3 1/2" (90 mm) of static pressure as measured across the kiln's fan wall, and the maximum recommended fan speed is 840 RPM. They are made of stress relieved, heat-treated, high grade permanent mold cast aluminum alloy for trouble free service in rugged kiln environments to 350°F (175°C). These propellers have adjustable pitch blades and tested reversibility with full flow in both directions. All Smithco propellers have, keyed taper lock bushings and stainless steel hardware, and the blade pitch is easily set using the Smithco Degree Gauge.

ENGINEERING SUPPORT

FOR YOUR APPLICATIONS

Smithco's experienced Engineering staff provides fast and complete technical support for our customers. Smithco is dedicated to serving the wood drying industry. Our fan performance data is based on tests conducted in an AMCA registered laboratory with the propeller mounted in a typical dry kiln shroud and panel arrangement without inlet or outlet ducts. Our computerized data system means you get fast and accurate information for your specific application.

FAST ON TIME DELIVERY

They are made of stress relieved, heat-treated, high grade permanent mold cast aluminum alloy for trouble free service in rugged kiln environments to 350°F (175°C). Our propellers have tested reversibility with full flow in both directions. All Smithco propellers have adjustable pitch blades, keyed taper lock bushings and stainless steel hardware. The blade pitch is easily set using the Smithco Degree Gauge.

SMITHCO

DEGREE GAUGE

SMI-10-8 DG

(non-hinged degree gauge for 760mm-1000mm)

SMI-DG-H

(hinged degree gauge for all other propellers)

The unique Smithco Degree Gauges, as shown above, make setting the blade pitch fast, easy and accurate. Select your desired blade angle on the gauge. Slide it into the special index hole in the blade and rotate the blade until it stops. That's all you do and you can be sure all the blades have the same angle setting. The hinged clamp on the SMI-DG-H model allows setting the blade pitch angle of a propeller assembled on a motor shaft.
